DAY 1:- Depart for China

Depart from London Heathrow Airport for your scheduled flight to Beijing.

Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.


DAY 2:- Arrive Beijing

Welcome to China. Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, please follow sign for Arrival & Passport control, and proceed to clear immigration as outlined below

Immigration Procedure:

  1. Please complete a landing card on arrival at the destination airport and present it at the immigration counter.
  2. Please form a queue at the Shanghai immigration counter as per your name listed in the China Group Visa document.
  3. You will be called individually as per the name listed on China Group Visa document by the immigration officer to clear immigration.

After clearing immigration formalities collect your luggage and follow sign for Exit.

Watch out for our representative / guide who will be holding a placard with ‘Welcome Cobra Holidays’ on it. You will be met & greeted by our English speaking Guide / Representative, who will guide you to our coach and transfer you to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to recover from jet lag and get ready for the adventures awaiting you! (China is 8 hours ahead of UK GMT).

DAY 3:- Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City & Imperial Summer Palace

Today, enjoy a full day city tour to soak up the atmosphere of Beijing. This includes visiting must-see historical sites such as the Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public spaces in the world and next visit he Forbidden City, an awe-inspiring palace complex that was the home to 24 Chinese Emperors over the course of almost 500 years. .

In the afternoon visit to the fresh water Pearl Centre, and learn about the different varieties of these underwater gems. We continue the tour to the enchanting Imperial Summer Palace on Kunming Lake and the Garden of Harmony considered a masterpiece of Chinese landscape design and one of UNESCO’S heritage sites. One way boat trip on the lake is included.

Optional: Evening entertainment:- The Golden Mask Dynasty.

This theatre was specially designed for the large-scale show. Set in the Golden Mask Dynasty, a legendary age in China, the story tells how a queen who wears a golden mask creates a splendid dynasty through wisdom, tolerance, trust and boundless love. In eight acts it tells stories of war, bountiful pastures, the forging of metal, ceremonies, the moon, floods, fetes and illusions. They even produce an amazing real flood on the stage!

DAY 4:- Great Wall of China & Bird’s Nest Olympics Stadium

Today you will enjoy another fabulous highlight, a visit to the Great Wall of China. This iconic structure is some 3,800 miles long and at least 2,600 years old. The Great Wall winds through the hills of northern China and passes within 40 miles of Beijing at Badaling, where it is wide enough to allow five horsemen to ride abreast.

Here you will have plenty of time to walk along the historic ramparts and marvel at its size and enjoy the unforgettable views.

On your way back to Beijing, our memorable day continues, we visit the excitement of the 2008 Summer Olympics when you view Olympic Park, the Water Cube (exteriors only) and the famous Bird’s Nest Stadium.

DAY 5:- Temple of HeavenRickshaw tour – Hutong & Lama temple

This morning, visit the Temple of Heaven where the emperor came twice each year to thank the gods for a bountiful harvest and to pray for the new season. Learn tai chi amidst the locals doing their morning exercises. Soak in the culture of this communal space while other citizens of the city play cards or board games nearby.

Afterwards, experience and enjoy a rickshaw tour through its narrow streets and alleys of Hutong. Visit one of the local Hutong home and with the help from an interpreter, you will learn about a local family’s history and way of daily life.

This afternoon visit Yonghegong Lamsery, and marvel at the intricate design of the world famous renowned huge Lama Temple, one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries.

DAY 6:- Flight to Xian

In the afternoon, we take a flight to Xian, the former capital of China and starting point of the ancient Silk Road.

We visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built as a Buddhist Monastery during the Tang Dynasty. We enjoy the jovial atmosphere around the beautiful Pagoda and picturesque boulevards, where Xian residents come to socialise & relax.

 DAY 7:- Terracotta Warriors

This morning, after breakfast you will have the opportunity to visit Xingqing Park. Filled with culture, this local park is a hub of activity in the morning. You may witness and have the chance to participate in morning exercise, singing and dancing. Later this morning visit to a local Lacquer Furniture Shop. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before a tour of Xian’s antiquities.

Your tour includes visiting the site at the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang (259-210 B.C.) and the Archaeological Museum where more than 8,000 finely sculpted, life-size Terracotta Warriors and horses were discovered by local farmers in 1974. This vast clay army, 8,000 strong, was created to guard China’s first emperor in the afterlife. You’ll be amazed at the detail – each soldier has a different face.

The Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show, a wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance, is a must when you visit Xian. The city, which was formerly known as Chang’an has a very long history, and was the imperial capital during 13 dynastic periods. Of these, the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907) was the most prosperous and glorious of all. The Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show is an outstanding exponent of this ancient stable and prosperous society, keeping alive its splendid culture and providing an insight into the peaceful life style of the period

DAY 8:– Bell Tower & Drum Tower, Flight Xian to Shanghai

After breakfast we explore Xian’s historic Muslim Quarter, home to a large Chinese Muslim community who have lived in the city since the silk road was first established.

Enjoy walking through Muslim Square, along narrow winding streets crammed with shop stalls selling an array of interesting handcrafts and local food specialties. We also have opportunity to visit Xian’s Wooden Mosque. Afterwards we walk to the majestic Bell Tower (exterior only) for a great photo opportunity. On the opposite side of the square we visit the famous Drum Tower, which provides fantastic views across the city.

In the afternoon we enjoy a leisurely walk along the ancient City Walls. The smooth & well preserved walls provide an ideal and safe walking route around the entire historic city centre. This is a charming way to enjoy the local lifestyle of Xian.

Late afternoon take a flight to Shanghai, the exciting cosmopolitan city of China. Your tour begins in booming Shanghai, the economic capital of the People’s Republic of China. This bustling city’s futuristic skyline will leave you speechless.

We marvel at the futuristic landscape and magnificent towers on the famous promenade along the Huangpu River, the Bund and Nanjing Road. This evening view the city by night from the Huangpu River on a panoramic cruise.

DAY 9:- Maglev train, Oriental Pearl TV Tower & Yuyuan Garden

Today after breakfast, meet your guide and we proceed for full day sightseeing city tour of Shanghai to include the following:

  1. Travel to Maglev train station in Shanghai to board the world’s fastest train, the Maglev, for a return journey to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport with a top speed of 267mph.
  2. Visiting the Jade Buddha Temple which is the most famous and one of the most active Buddhist temples in Shanghai. It was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty to enshrine two beautiful jade Buddha statues that were brought from Burma.
  3. Visit to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
    Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with a height of 468 meters high is the 4th highest in Asia and the 6th highest tower in the world. Construction commenced on May 30th, 1991 and was completed on October 1st, 1994. It faces the Bund across the Huangpu River. Built with eleven steel spheres in various sizes hanging from the blue sky to the green grassland, the body of the tower creates an admirable image, which is described in an ancient Chinese verse as: large and small pearls dropping on a plate of jade.The tower consists of 6 main parts: 3 gigantic columns the 1st sphere called bottom ball the 2nd sphere known as upper ball, the 3rd sphere called space capsule other 5 small spheres, basement and the square. There is a totally transparent panorama lift between the columns offering a quiet good view of Shanghai. This was the first wholly transparent elevator in the world.
  1. After lunch visit the beautiful and world famous Yuyuan Garden (Mandarin’s Garden) featuring pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters.

If time permits visit Xintiandi Fashion Zone and shopping at Nanjing Road.

DAY 10:- Depart Shanghai – Tokyo in Japan

This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Shanghai Pudong International Airport to board your flight for Tokyo. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.

Welcome to Japan. Upon arrival in Tokyo, Japan’s the bustling capital of “The Land of the Rising Sun”,  clear immigration, collect your luggage and follow sign for Exit. Watch out for our English speaking guide who will be holding a placard ‘Welcome Cobra Holidays’ on it. He will greet you and transfer you to our hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure to rest, relax and acclimate to the new time zone.

DAY 11:– Tokyo – City Tour

Today after breakfast, we proceed for sightseeing of Tokyo visiting a number of the main highlights of this magnificent City. The tour includes a visit to the Tokyo Tower where you can enjoy panoramic views across the city from the observation tower. We proceed to the peaceful picturesque setting of the Meiji Shrine, set in thick woodland and considered to be one of the finest examples of Shinto Architecture.

Next we drive by the ‘Akasaka Guest House’ for a photo opportunity. The Guest House is a magnificent ‘Western Style Palace’ built in the Baroque Architectural style. We then drive alongside the imposing National Diet Building, which is home to the Japanese House of Parliament.

Our tour continues across Tokyo to the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, which is filled with scenic and historic beauty. (Alternatively for tours on Monday & Friday & when the garden is closed, we will visit the Imperial Palace plaza and famous Double Bridge instead). Our tour will continue with a drive and stroll along Ginza high street, the famous shopping area of Tokyo. The tour disbands in Ginza, giving you a great opportunity for shopping.

Later we board our Sumida River Cruise boat and visit the Asakusa Kannon Temple & Nakamise shopping street.

DAY 12:–Tokyo / Kamakura / Tokyo.

After breakfast, proceed for full day tour to Kamakura.

En-route we visit the busiest Zebra crossing in Shibuya (Tokyo).

The phenomenon gave rise to its nickname “scramble,” as pedestrians cross from all directions. Shibuya Crossing walks the line between manic chaos and perfect synchronization. It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachikō exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. The statue of Hachikō, a dog, between the station and the intersection, is a common meeting place and almost always crowded.

Get a taste for the beautiful landscapes and serene religious monuments outside Tokyo as you visit the city of Kamakura and Enoshima on this guided day trip. Visit Kotoku-in Temple featuring the Great Buddha of Kamakura (Kamakura Daibutsu) is a bronze statue of Amida Buddha, which stands on the grounds of Kotokuin Temple. With a height of 11.4 meters, it has long been the second tallest bronze Buddha in Japan

Enjoy green tea ceremony at Jomyo-ji Temple overlooking a rock garden.

You’ll learn about Japan’s long history before returning to Tokyo.

DAY 13:– Tokyo – Mt. Fuji – Hakone

We board our deluxe coach and drive to the 5th station on Mount Fuji. Along the way you will enjoy the scenery of rural Japan, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and mountainous peaks. From our vantage point on the 5th station on MT Fuji, we will enjoy spectacular views (weather permitting).

Afternoon – we proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi, which is set in serene natural beauty. Weather permitting, spectacular views of Mount Fuji can be seen silhouetted in the lake. Following the cruise we take the Komagatake cable car which provides the opportunity to see the magnificent volcanic Hakone mountain range below.

We will then travel to the Owakudani Boiling Valley where you will see ancient volcanic craters with sulfurous fumes and clouds of steam spiraling from crevasses across the mountain side giving a truly mystical image. Later we visit the recently restored Hakone Sekisho, which was an important check point established by the Tokugawa shogun.

Check in hotel and experience hot springs indoor baths for ultimate relaxation. Please bring suitable swim wear.

DAY 14:– Hakone – Ordawara – Nagoya – Toyota cars museum

After breakfast, check out hotel and transfer to Odawara Station to board the Bullet Train Shinkansen for Hiroshima via Nagoya.

On arrival at Nagoya station, we proceed to the city of Toyota, less than one hour east of central Nagoya to visit Toyota cars Kaikan Museum, where Toyota displays its new models and technologies to the public and periodically holds robot shows.

Later check-in to your hotel.

DAY 15:– Nagoya – Hiroshima – Miyajima – Hiroshima

After breakfast we transfer to Hakone Station to depart for Hiroshima via Nagoya by JR Limited Express Train and JR Bullet Train.

Upon arrival we proceed to visit the Peace Memorial Park to see the Flame of Peace, continually burning to symbolise the hope for worldwide peace, and surrounding area, including the A-bomb Dome and Museum.

In the afternoon we transfer to Miyajimaguchi, where we board a ferry to Miyajima Island otherwise known as Itsukushima or Divine Island. Visit the famous Itsukushima Shrine, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known worldwide for its floating Red torii gate rising majestically out of the sea. The stunning Shinto shrine and Torii gate are unique as they are constructed over the sea with each building in the complex connected by a series of walkways.

DAY 16:– Hiroshima – Shinkansen Bullet train –  Osaka – Nara – Osaka

Today after breakfast, we meet our English speaking guide, board our coach and transfer to Hiroshima station to board the Bullet train Shinkansen to Osaka. Upon arrival at Shin Osaka station we board our coach and proceed to visit Nara.

On arrival In Nara we proceed for the sightseeing tour of Nara to include visiting home of the impressive Todaiji temple Daibutsu (Great Buddha) bronze statue in the world’s largest wooden building, rising over 50 feet high.

Next we visit the famous and beautiful Kasuga Taisha Shinto Shrine which features hanging 3,000 bronze and stone lanterns.

Continue to Nara Park to see the over 1,000 tame deer roaming freely in the peaceful park. Encounter wild deer up close while walking through Nara Park, a rarity in Japan and worldwide.

Finally enjoy shopping at Nara Nagomikan the largest souvenir shop in Nara.

Later check in to your hotel in Osaka for overnight.

DAY 17:– Osaka – Kyoto – Osaka

Today after breakfast, we proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Kyoto city.

We visit the Bamboo Forest, or Arashiyama Bamboo Grove or Sagano Bamboo Forest, a natural forest of bamboo in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan.

We visit to the celebrated gold-gilded Kinkakuji Temple, known as the “Golden Pavilion’ surrounded by trees and nestled on a reflective pond.

Then visit to Nijo Castle, former residence of the Tokugawa Shogun built in 1603. Nijo Castle is noted for its Ornate interior and ‘nightingale floor’ designed to sing when stepped upon to warn of Ninja assassins.

End the day with a walk in Gion, Kyoto’s most famous Geisha district; visit the shops, restaurants and tea houses where Geisha entertain.

DAY 18:– Osaka – City Tour

After breakfast, we board our coach and  proceed for sightseeing tour of Osaka city, begins with a visit to the dramatic Osaka Castle (from outside)  built as a display of power in the 16th century, strategically looming over the surrounding park and moat.

We visit the Umeda sky building (twin tower), to enjoy panoramic views of Osaka at the Floating Garden Observatory at the top of the Umeda Sky Building, which is also popular among international travellers for its unique architecture. Then we board the Osaka Aqua Liner (60 minutes cruise), and enjoy seeing the seasonal scenery with a cruise along the Ogawa River aboard the Aqua Liner water bus. See a view of the famous places and historic spots of Osaka from the river.

Continue to the Kuromon Market, an Osaka landmark, with vendors selling fresh food and fast-food Japanese-style. Stop for lunch or just try the tasty snacks.

Then, free time to wander along the Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori shopping streets with an array of fabulous selection of fashionable boutiques.

DAY 19:– Osaka –  London

After breakfast free time at leisure, later we say Sa-yo-na-ra and depart for Osaka Kansai International Airport to board your flight for London.

Upon arrival at London Heathrow Airport terminal , follow signs for arrival/baggage claim, clear immigration, collect baggage and follow sign for EXIT.
