DAY 1:– Flight Depart for Cancun 

Depart from London Heathrow airport on scheduled flights to Cancun in Mexico.

Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.

Welcome to Mexico! Upon arrival in Cancun, clear immigration, collect your luggage and follow sign for Exit. Watch out for our representative / guide who will be holding a placard with ‘ Welcome Cobra Holidays ’ written on it. You will be greeted at the airport by our English speaking guide and transferred

to your hotel. An All Inclusive package at the hotel.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to recover from jet lag and get ready for the adventures awaiting you! (Mexico is 8 hours ahead of UK GMT).

DAY 3:– Cancun Excursion to Chichen Itza

This morning after breakfast, we meet our guide and depart to explore Chichen Itza and discover the enigmatic archaeological zone, the Mayan ceremonial centre (renowned Patrimony of the Humanity for the UNESCO), and the incredible Kukulcán’s Temple (considered one of 7 New Marvels of the Modern World).Sample typical Mayan cuisine at a buffet lunch with folkloric dancers before beginning your tour of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Highlights:

  • Day trip to Chichen Itza from Cancun
  • Explore the observatory, a sacred cenote, the ball court and the castle
  • Enjoy a delicious buffet-style lunch while watching a traditional folkloric dance

DAY 4:– Flight Cancun – Havana (Cuba)

After breakfast transfer to Cancun’s International Airport to board your flight to Havana in Cuba.

Welcome to Cuba! Upon arrival at Havana International Airport, clear immigration, collect your luggage and follow sign for Exit. Watch out for our representative / guide who will be holding a placard with ‘ Welcome Cobra Holidays ’ written on it. You will be greeted at the airport by our English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to recover from jet lag and get ready for the adventures awaiting you!.

DAY 5:- Havana – City tour

After breakfast embark on an included city sightseeing tour of the historical part of Havana, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Wherever you go in Havana, you will come across evidence of the city’s Spanish cultural heritage and architecture dating back to the colonial era. We stroll through the charming old streets of Havana, passing beautiful squares, historic buildings and a string of sculptures and monuments from modern and older periods. We experience the contrast between newly renovated and finely maintained streets and buildings, and the more run-down, dilapidated areas that make Havana unique.

City tour includes visit to:

  • We will head to one of Havana’s fascinating working cigar factories, to see where Cuba’s famous cigar brands are still hand made by the local workers. During your tour through the factory observe the skilled hands of the Torcedores (cigar rollers) while they produce the world-famous Cuban cigars.

 

  • You will then continue to visit the Museum of the Revolution, housed in the former Presidential Palace, the museum offers a fascinating insight into Cuba’s revolutionary history. Featuring over 9000 exhibits, including weapons, photos and documents from the struggle against Batista’s dictatorship and the battles of the independence wars.

 

  • Highlights of the tour include visiting the four famous historical places, a visit to the Plaza de Armas, the oldest square in the city and site of the city museum and the governor’s palace. We also see Plaza de San Francisco Asis with its beautiful church, Plaza Vieja with its magnificent old colonial buildings and Plaza de la Catedral with the handsome cathedral.

 

  • In the early evening you will explore the other areas of central Havana in Old American cars! Be chauffeur driven through the city in the most fantastic vehicles dating back to the 50s, a great way to enjoy this unique city!

DAY 6:- Havana – Viñales Valley – Boat ride – Havana

Today after breakfast you leave Havana behind and head off towards the delightful Viñales valley, a journey of around 3 hours. It is a stunning tobacco growing region of Vinales.

The landscape is predominantly made up of fertile valleys covered in banana palms and mango trees, tobacco fields and the impressive limestone mountains known locally as “mogotes”. The farmers here still grow crops and tobacco in the old-fashioned way, with the aid of ox-drawn carts.

City tour includes visit to:

  • Visit of a tobacco farmer – Tour over tobacco fields a visit to a typical tobacco drying house to see how the tobacco crops are turned into the world’s best cigars.
  • Stop at the lookout point Los Jazmines – Great opportunity to take pictures of the unique Viñales valley.
  • Visit to the Cueva del Indio – Ride down an underground river through the El Indio cave system, named after Cuba’s native inhabitants who once verifiably lived here. The tour will start on foot and continue in a small motorboat. Please note that longer waiting times might occur.
  • Visit of Cueva Santo Tomás – In this cave system you will discover many remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations, which used to be home to local indigenous tribes. We sail through the caves along the miles and miles of river that flow through this breath taking natural phenomenon.

Note: Lightweight hiking boots are required.

Later return to Havana

DAY 7:- Havana – Cienfuegos – Horse Carriage

After breakfast, check-out hotel and we drive to Cienfuegos ( 3hrs drive )  to visit this French Influenced Colonial city.

We will have lunch at Club Cienfuegos, and after lunch take a stroll through the Colonial centre and along the Seafront ‘Malecon’ Promenade.

City tour includes visit to:

  • Stop at “Fiesta Campesina”, near Guamá
  • Visit of Tomás Terry theatre -Built in 1887, it is still in excellent condition. Well worth seeing are the ceiling fresco and the four-tiered stage hall.
  • Horse-Carriage Tour – Climb aboard a charming horse-drawn carriage for a relaxing tour of Cienfuegos. Later check-in to our hotel.

DAY 08:Cienfuegos – Trinidad ( 2hrs 30min drive )

After breakfast board our coach and drive to Trinidad awaits.

En-route we visit El Nicho Park, a marvel of nature with dozens of waterfalls and natural pools in an area virtually untouched, hidden among the mountains and one of the most beautiful spots in Cuba.

A paradise which combines the green of the vegetation, rivers, the Black Creek waterfalls, where water plunges more than 30 meters, and we reach the area by taking a very scenic route through many quaint rural villages.

We continue our journey to Trinidad and arrive late in the afternoon. This charming town features on the UNESCO World Heritage List, largely on account of its well-preserved buildings that date back to colonial times. Later check-in to our hotel.

DAY 09: Trinidad – City tour

This morning  embark on an included sightseeing city tour to include a visit to the picturesque Plaza Mayor (Grand Square).

 City tour includes :

  • We visit the Museum of the Fight Against the Bandits, which covers the revolutionary battles in the nearby Escambray mountains. Here, you can climb the bell tower for the very best views across Trinidad.
  • Visit the History Museum focusing on a family’s life in Cuba in the 1800s, and then you can sample the unique Trinidad rum and sugar cane cocktail at La Canchanchara, an old house dating back to the 18th Century, beware it is delicious, but very strong!
  • Visit the Museo Romantica, which is known for its collections of jewels, porcelain, paintings and sculptures that previously belonged to the Spanish nobles.
  • The square is also the site of the cathedral: Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima Trinidad, one of the biggest churches on Cuba.
  • It is then time to head for La Canchanra bar for a refreshing drink. Enjoy one of Cuba´s lesser known cocktails from the 19th century, the Canchánchara made of water, lime, honey and sugar cane liquor.

To round off the tour, we call in at an arts and crafts shop, visit Cantero palace, and spend some time taking a closer look at the charming, pastel-coloured houses

DAY 10:– Trinidad – Varadero (4hrs drive).

After breakfast, free time at leisure. Later we board our coach and drive to Varadero. Upon arrival, check-in to our hotel.  All Inclusive package.

DAY 13:– Varadero – Havana (2hrs 30mins drive)

After breakfast at 10:30am, board our coach and drive to Havana.

Upon arrival, we take a trip to El Malecon beach promenade to walk along the sea shore, experience everyday life in Cuba, admire all the stylish old American cars, or relax on one of the squares in the old part of town.  Later check in to our hotel.

Our last night in CUBA, share wonderful memories of our journey at our Farewell Dinner with your fellow travellers tonight.
