DAY 1: London – Flight to Lima

Depart from London Heathrow Airport on your scheduled flight to the Peruvian capital of Lima in PERU.

Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey. The meals provided on the flight are complimentary at the discretion of the airline.

DAY 2: Lima

This morning after breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Lima city that brings to life the Peruvian capital.

We will begin the visit of the city with an exploration of Colonial Lima. First, we will stop off at the Main

Square, to explore it on foot and admire the exteriors of the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and

the City Hall, all examples of Lima’s still-present colonial architectural opulence. We will visit the

Cathedral; as walking through its numerous chapels, we’ll discover various architectural styles and learn about the religious history of Peru. We will continue with the visit to San Francisco Convent built in the 17th century, and its “Catacombs” ancient underground cemetery of Lima. Then, we will visit Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion that currently holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously inhabited private residence in the Southern Hemisphere.

Finally, we will begin a journey through the streets of modern Lima as head toward the most traditional of the residential zones of the capital: SanIsidro, the heart of the city’s financial district; and Miraflores, a perfect spot to enjoy wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean.

After dinner visit to the Magic Water Circuit, Fountains Park. At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at the hotel to go through the enchanted Circuito Mágico del Agua (Circuit of water fountains). Built in 2007, this park comprises the largest fountain complex in the world, as attested by the Guinness Book of World Records. Here, we will attend a marvelous performance that combines water, lights, music, and holograms working in harmony to produce an unforgettable show.

Later return to your hotel in Lima after the spectacular show.

DAY 3: Flight – Lima – Cuzco – City tour

This morning transfer to Jorge Chavez International Airport Lime to board your morning flight to Cuzco the former Inca imperial capital. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by our English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.

In the afternoon we proceed to visit the nearby ruins: Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, Qenqo Archaeological Complex, Puca Pucara Fortress and Tambomachay Archaeological Complex.

We will visit the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman a colossal structure built with huge carved rocks jointed with absolute accuracy, this astounding sample of the Incan military architecture is, undoubtedly, the greatest architectonic work of the Tahuantinsuyo. But, in addition, it proves the undeniable firmness of the great administrative capacity of the empire and its powerful logistic system capable of mobilizing and organizing such a work. As of the Spaniards arrival its aspect has changed a lot, since this fortress was used as a hewn stone to build the colonial Cusco. Then we will visit the ancient amphitheater of Quenqo, the so-called ‘Red Fortress’, Puca Pucara and the aqueducts ancient baths of Tambomachay.

Visit Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the intricacy of the carved woodwork, alters and paintings at the Cathedral which flanks the main square (Plaza de Armas). Be inspired by the incredible masonry of the Incas.

Today, this former temple can be found at the intersection of modern-day Calle Santo Domingo and Avenida del Sol in Cusco

DAY 4: Cuzco – Pisac Sacred Valley

After breakfast proceed for full day tour towards Sacred Valley, a few miles farther along, we will reach Pisac, a beautiful place where Incan and Colonial influences have reached a perfect balance and created the unique way of life of the local inhabitants. We will get a chance to explore this quaint town, famous for its artisan markets where we can find extraordinarily fine jewelry and ceramic and textile craftwork. Afterward, we will visit one of the last remaining Incan towns, Ollantaytambo, which was once fiercely guarded by a massive fortress. We will discover the large archaeological complex of what used to serve as a wayside inn for royal delegations on long journeys. Surviving structures here include multiple walls and towers that were used to protect the citadel from possible

  • Pack an overnight bag for Sacred Valley or Aguas Calientes due to the limited space on the trains for big luggage.  The hotel will store your other luggage. 

DAY 5: Full day visit Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu (by train & bus)

After early breakfast today, we will pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and go to train Station. The comfortable train ride from there to the station at Aguas Calientes is packed full of spectacular vistas. On our arrival, we will take a bus that will drop us at the admission fee to the citadel of Machu Picchu itself. Unearthed for modernity by Hiram Bingham more than a century ago, Machu Picchu is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. Its architectural beauty, spectacular natural setting, and the energy that radiates from its enigmatic buildings will take your breath away. We will follow in the footsteps of the ancient Incas as we take a tour of the magical citadel led by one of our guides.

DAY 6: Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Today after breakfast free time at leisure. Later in the afternoon you will return by train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy and continue your journey to Cuzco by coach.

DAY 7: Cuzco – Puno

This morning after breakfast we board our coach and drive southbound from Cusco through the Andes to the town of Puno on the shores of shimmering Lake Titicaca.

This beautiful route awaits to surprise us. We will make a stop in Andahuaylillas town and its church, known as the Sistine Chapel of America for the quality of the art it houses. The sanctuary was built by the Jesuits in the 16th century on top of an Inca temple. The church is a small structure consisting of a single nave and the bell tower.

Continue our tour until we reach Raqchi. The most important building within the complex is the Wiracocha temple. Architecturally it is classified as Kallanka, that is, a tall building completely covered with straw (wood and ‘ichu’). Externally it is 92 meters long and 25.25 meters wide.

We will also visit the Pukara museum. During its heyday, this town covered more than a square  kilometer and housed thousands of bureaucrats, priests, craftsmen, farmers, shepherds, and possibly warriors.

We will finally arrive at the city of Puno.

DAY 8: Puno – Lake Titicaca – Isla del Sol, Bolivia

After breakfast we travel by coach from Puno (Peru) to Copacabana (Bolivia) on the shores of Lake Titicaca the sacred Lake of the Incas. Upon arrival to Copacabana, visit the sanctuary and the Virgin Morena.

Then take the luxury Hydrofoil cruise to Sun Island to visit the Pilcocaina Temple. Llama walk to the hotel. On arrival check-in to hotel followed by lunch.

This afternoon is free at leisure to enjoy the landscape.

DAY 9: Isla del Sol, Bolivia – La Paz

Today after a hearty Bolivian breakfast, visit the Inca Staircase & Sacred fountain. Here the sacred water is believed to offer eternal youth and happiness.

After lunch visit the small craft market.

Board the luxury Hydrofoil to the Moon Island, visit of the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun Iñak Uyu.

Continue to Cocotoni. Transfer by bus to Huatajata. Upon arrival, visit the Eco-Village “Andean Roots”; The Altiplano Museum; The Artisan Village, the mud igloos and the mortuary towers of the Urus Chipayas. Meet personally the Limachi family, builders of RA II and Tigris and other epic expeditions across the Atlantic. See our elegant vicunas, llamas, alpacas and the mythical Suri. Enjoy the land trip to your hotel in La Paz, along a road that runs parallel to the imposing snowy mountains of the Andes.

DAY 10: Flight La Paz – Uyuni – Salt Flats

This morning after breakfast, we depart from La Paz airport, one of the highest in the world, and take a short flight to the new runway in Uyuni, gateway to the extraordinary Salar de Uyuni. At 12,000 square km’s this is the largest salt flat in the world and situated in the high Bolivian Altiplano it is breathtaking in every sense of the word! We get into the 4×4 vehicle (4 Pax per vehicle) that will take you around the area over the coming days. Drive straight from the airport to the train cemetery, one of Bolivia’s stranger sights. Here rusty decommissioned trains lie forlornly in the desert, seemingly miles from any tracks. The next stop is the town of Colchani. Here you can see an artisanal salt-processing plant and learn about the salt extraction process. A short drive away, is the Ojos de Aguas, where you can see how the salt flats are formed. Next, head out to the salt flats, where a sea of snow-white salt opens out ahead of you. Take advantage of the lack of perspective to take some fun photographs, before moving on to Incahuasi Island, a fascinating location with a hill of cactuses and low shrubs (an hour drive away). Here, you will enjoy a Vegetarian picnic lunch (included) on the salt flats, before exploring the island, climbing to the summit for an incredible 360 degree vista of the whiteness stretching out in every direction. A walk around the entire island helps you to appreciate the emptiness and quietness of this desert. You then drive back across the salt flats to your hotel near the town of Colchani, a unique construction built of salt bricks. After dinner, spend the evening relaxing and perhaps stargazing, with the clear skies and lack of light pollution giving incredible views of the skies.

DAY 11: Uyuni – Coquesa – Campana Island

After breakfast set off for Coquesa, a small village at the foot of the Tunupa Volcano. Admire the views of the flats on the 90-minute drive. Upon arrival, visit the archaeological site where well-preserved mummies can be seen. You can then take an optional three-hour walk to the viewing point of the volcano, with its incredible multi – coloured surface, made of minerals of reds, creams, greens and oranges. A packed lunch is included on the walk. If you prefer a shorter walk, this can also be arranged. Depart Coquesa in the mid-afternoon, going back on the salt as you drive to Campana Island, another curious island of cacti in the salt flats. Explore this less-visited island, before enjoying a sunset vegetarian Picnic on the salt flats.

A spectacular sight, as the sun lowers, the salt crystals reflect the colours of the sky and shadows extend into the distance on this never-ending surface. You drive back to your hotel, arriving in time for dinner and another night in the salt hotel.

DAY 12: Flight Uyuni to LA Paz

This morning after breakfast, transfer to the Uyuni airport to board your flight to La Paz. You are met at the airport and travel an hour and a half out of La Paz on a scenic journey through the Bolivian highlands to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku.

This site was constructed by the Tiwanaku, one of the most ancient civilisations in the Americas. They are also considered amongst the most advanced people for their time, and you can admire the stonework evident in the Kalasasaya Temple, such as the Ponce and Fraile monoliths. Visiting the two local museums reveals the Tiwanakus were also skilled at pottery and you can see more of their stonework too.

After the Tiwanaku visit, you have lunch then return to La Paz

DAY 13: Flight LA Paz to Lima

This morning after breakfast, transfer LA Paz airport to board your flight to Lima via Cusco.

Welcome to Peru. Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport Lima, clear immigration formalities, collect your luggage and exit. Watch out for our guide who will be holding a placard ‘Welcome Cobra Holiday’ on it. He will welcome you, board your coach and transfer to hotel.

DAY 15: Arrival London

Welcome to England. On arrival at London Heathrow Airport terminal 5, follow signs for arrival/baggage claim, clear immigration, collect baggage and follow sign for exit.

Visa Requirements

  1. British Citizens require a machine readable passport, valid for 30 days after the return date, when travelling abroad.
  2. Visa: Peru, and Bolivia - British Citizen passport holders do not require visas to enter Peru, and Bolivia Please ensure you make your own arrangements to obtain the Visas if you require them.- Peru tourist visa is not required for citizens of United Kingdom for a stay of up to 183 days.
    - Bolivia tourist visa is not required for citizens of United Kingdom for a stay up to 90 days.
  3. Ensure your passport has sufficient blank passport pages. Most destinations require that you have adequate un-used pages in your passport, allowing for any necessary stamps upon arrival and departure. We recommend for each country you are visiting that you have at least two free pages in your passport before any international travel. Your passport must not be damaged in any way i.e. no water or oil marks, torn pages etc.
