The atmosphere here is magnificent, with charming café lifestyle, the pulsating beat of the metropolis and melancholy tango culture. We will be spending four nights in this wonderful city, so there will be plenty of time to visit the different areas and soak up the ambience.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to recover from jet lag and get ready for the adventures awaiting you! (Argentina is 8 hours ahead of UK GMT).

  3. 9 de Julio Avenida – the broadest boulevard in the world, with its famous Obelisco monument;
  4. Puerto Madero – the new harbour area, liberally sprinkled with chic cafés and restaurants;

After breakfast we proceed for a half day tour from Buenos Aires to the Tigre Delta.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in either the morning or afternoon (depending on option selected) or, if your hotel is out of the pickup area, meet your guide in central Buenos Aires. On board a

comfortable coach, ride along Costanera Avenue, parallel to the Rio de la Plata, and head out of the city centre to San Isidro. See its cathedral and the many mansions inhabited by old aristocratic families

before continuing on to Tigre. Here board a catamaran for a 40-minute cruise through the delta. See how people live on the islands and interact with floating services: the supermarket boat, water taxi and

more. See the homes built on stilts and President Sarmiento’s home/museum. At the end of the boat ride, return to port to re-board your coach for the drive back to Buenos Aires, where your tour ends at the hotel.

This evening, we will have the chance to experience an unforgettable tango show. After a traditional Argentine dinner, the show begins with melancholy tango rhythms and then proceeds to present fantastic singers and musicians, along with the marvellous tango dancers. DAY 6: Buenos Aires – Iguazu Falls Argentinean Side

This morning after breakfast, we will be visiting the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls, the biggest in the world and consist of 272 falls of various sizes along a 2.7 km stretch of the Iguazu river. Many of the waterfalls merge together, sending water crashing down over the cliffs, which form the shape of a horseshoe and tower up to a height of 85 metres. Although perhaps not as famous as Niagara Falls in North America the Iguazu Falls are both bigger and more impressive. The volume of water flowing through Niagara is an impressive 2.8 million litres per second, but this is dwarfed by the flow at Iguazu, which reaches a staggering 6.5 million litres per second. It is said that when she saw Iguazu for the first time, former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt blurted: “Niagara is just a dripping tap …” Iguazu is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Note: Your walking tour in Iguazu will include a number of steps which some customers may find strenuous.

In the evening dinner at the hotel (Western cuisine served).

DAY 7: Iguazu Falls Brazilian side – Flight to Rio De Janeiro

After breakfast, before heading off to Rio De Janeiro, we have time to visit the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. We cross the bridge that links the Argentine town of Puerto Iguazu and the Brazilian town of Foz do Iguazu. Following a mandatory customs check, we continue on our way into the national park.

Most of the waterfalls are on the Argentine side, but the view is best from the Brazilian side, as it provides many different angles from which to view the falls. For example, there is a lift up to a viewing platform that provides a fantastic perspective on the Devil’s Throat – enshrouded in the mist from the falls themselves. On the paths, we also have a good chance of spotting the small ring-tailed coati, inquisitively following in our footsteps.

We then travel to the airport in Foz do Iguazu where you catch your flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Welcome to Brazil. Upon arrival in Rio De Janeiro, clear immigration, collect your baggage and follow sign for exit. You will be greeted at the airport by our English speaking guide who will accompany you to your hotel close to the famous Copacabana beach. The city is set in a fantastic location by the mountains that line the Atlantic coast.

The rest of the day is yours to do with as you wish: go swimming in the blue waters of the Atlantic, for example, or stroll along the beautiful promenade by the famous sandy beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

After taking in this delightful view, we ride the cable car back and take a closer look at the great cathedral, the architectonic monuments and the famous samba stadium.
